How do I get my free credit report?
When you sign up for a trial of the CreditCheck Monitoring Service, we provide you a free credit report as a welcoming gift. You can choose to receive your credit report either online through our web site or by U.S. mail.

Online delivery: After we process your order, we will send you an email that contains your membership number--the first of two security codes you will need to access your report online. We will also put a letter containing the second security code--your passcode--into the U.S. mail. When you receive your passcode letter, you will be able to come back to our web site, enter your membership and passcode numbers in "Report Express," and view your credit report online.
. Mail delivery: After we process your order, we will send you a letter that contains your credit report and your membership and passcode numbers, which you will need to order future reports either online through Report Express or by phone.


How do I view my credit report online?

To access your Credit Report or monthly Monitoring Alert report online, simply click the "Report Express" link from any page in ConsumerInfo.Com's web site. When the page appears, enter your membership number and passcode, and click the "Continue" button.

The next screen will list any Credit Reports or Monitoring Alerts that are available for you to view.

To view your Credit Report:
If you have requested a Credit Report, select your report and click the "View Report" button. Remember you will be able to view or download your credit report for 3 weeks after the date posted at the top of the report. After that, your report will be deleted. To save your report to your hard drive or disk, click on the "Save Report" button at the bottom of the page beneath your report.

To view your monthly Monitoring Alert Report:
To view your monthly CreditCheck Monitoring Alerts, just click "View Report." Your Monitoring Alert Report will be updated automatically every month, and will remain there until the next month's report replaces it, so you can view it at your convenience. To print this report, simply click on your browser's "print" button at the top of the screen.


What are the technical requirements for online delivery of my report?
To access your reports online, you must use one of the following browsers:

Netscape Navigator 3.01 or higher
. Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher (with the Windows 95/98 operating system if on a PC)
. AOL 3.0 or higher for Windows 95/98

You can check the version number of your browser by clicking "Help" and then "About [your software]" in the menu bar at the top of your screen. If you wish to upgrade your browser to support online delivery, you can do so by downloading the free upgrade from the software manufacturer's web site:

Note: Because Microsoft's Internet Explorer 3.0 was coded with capabilities the Windows 3.1 operating system cannot support, you will not be able to use Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher to access your credit report from a PC running on Windows 3.1.

You must also enable Java and accept the "cookie" our server sends when you enter your membership and passcode numbers in Report Express. The cookie is what passes down the membership and passcode numbers so that you can view your credit report. It is deleted when you exit your report, and so poses no security risk whatsoever.

Why is my passcode sent by U.S. 	mail
	When I first sign up?
Sending your passcode to your home address, separate from your membership number, is one of the many security measures we take to protect your privacy and confidential information. Before we mail the passcode, we check the address provided on the order form against the address recorded on the credit report; if they don't match, we don't send the passcode until we can confirm with you that you ordered the report and verify your address information. This prevents anyone from ordering your report and diverting it to their address, instead of yours.

We cannot give you your passcode over the telephone or via email because that would subvert this important security precaution.

Why do you need all the information you
	 ask for on the order form?
The information we require is all necessary either to obtain your credit report for you, authenticate the order for security, or process the order for billing. Your previous address, for example, can help us verify that we have the correct person and report if your current address does not appear on your credit report.

Why do you need valid credit card for a 	free
	credit report?
The free credit report is a gift from us when you try the CreditCheck Monitoring Service. Because we are signing you up for a membership in the CreditCheck Monitoring Service, we need to verify your credit card information before we can process your order. We will perform an authorization on your credit card, to make sure it is valid and in good standing, but we do not bill your card until the 30-day free trial period has passed.

Why do you require a United 	States
	mailing address?
The agreement we have with the credit bureaus from which we obtain reports requires us for security purposes to send individuals' credit reports only to the address that appears on their credit report. Because laws impacting credit reporting differ widely from country to country, U.S. credit reporting agencies only maintain data on U.S. residents. Therefore, we can only mail passcodes or reports to the U.S. addresses because they are the only ones the credit bureaus track. So, if you do not have a U.S. mailing address, we are unable to supply you with credit reports.

How do I cancel my membership?
If after trying the CreditCheck Monitoring Service you decide it is not for you, you can cancel by calling our Customer Service Center toll-free 1 (888) 888-8553. Our money-back guarantee allows you to cancel any time and receive a prorated refund of the current year's membership fee.

Please note that the 3-Agency Credit Report is a one-time report, rather than a membership service, and is therefore non-refundable.

Isn't everyone entitled to one free 	credit
	report annually?
Although Experian used to offer one free credit report annually to all consumers, there is no legal mandate for the offer, and the credit bureau discontinued the practice as of March 1, 1997.

By Federal law, you are entitled to one free credit report per year directly from a credit reporting agency only if you certify that:

you are unemployed and seeking employment in the next 60 days.
. you are receiving public assistance.
. you believe there are inaccuracies in your report due to fraud.

Also, if you are denied credit on the basis of information in a credit report you are entitled to a free copy of your report from the credit bureau that supplied the credit report.

Residents of Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Vermont are entitled by state law to one free report from a credit reporting agency per year. Residents of Georgia are entitled to two.

Is ConsumerInfo.Com a credit bureau?
No, it is not. Although we sell credit reports as an information services company, we do not gather credit data or maintain a database of credit files. That's why we refer our customers who want to dispute inaccurate information on their credit reports to the credit bureaus supplying the information. Because we do not own the database, we cannot change your credit file.

Which bureau's credit report does the CreditCheck
	 Monitoring Service monitor for me?
The CreditCheck Monitoring Service monitors your Equifax credit report and notifies you with Online Monthly Monitoring Alerts that inform you of several important changes to your Equifax credit file. You'll know about new derogatory information, recent inquiries into your credit, and several indicators of possible credit fraud. (Customers who choose mail delivery will receive a printed Quarterly Monitoring Alert by mail.) The CreditCheck Monitoring Service also includes free copies of your Equifax report anytime during your membership.

My spouse's accounts do not appear on
	 my credit  report.  Why  not?
The credit reporting agencies maintain credit files on individual U.S. residents only. They do not maintain joint files for spouses. Therefore, your credit report is separate and different from your spouse's. It is also why the CreditCheck Monitoring Service monitors only one individual per membership.
